Is Clearly Questionable Behavior at Best"

Alexis:
Good, Kelly's fine dining.
Nikolas:
Be quiet. You like Kelly's and you know it.
Alexis:
I was just thinking maybe we'd go someplace a little fancier, but
this is fine. Apparently, you have a craving for chili and the waitress
that
looks alarmingly like Emily.
Nikolas:
Look, I just thought the two of us could share a nice dinner together
in everyone's favorite diner to help offset my -- hello? Offset
my image as a complete stalker. So I'm ready to order. How about
you? Let's go.
Alexis:
Ok. Just don't rush me, ok, because i got up at 5:30 this morning
so that I could think about working out, and then I don't, and then
I went to my laptop and, of course, the whole thing was hijacked
by a virus, so it kind of went downhill from there. So you are the
bright spot in my day. To have my nephew call me andinvite me to
a nice, nice restaurant where I was kind of
hoping for a martini and a nice fresh grilled fish. But i'll have
a ... a cube steak and a fizzy soda or something else that goes
-- oh, look They have new things on the menu.
Waitress:
What can I get you?
Nikolas:
She's not quite ready yet. Could we have Rebecca be our waitress?
Would that be ok?
Waitress:
Sorry, this isn't her station.
Nikolas:
Oh. Well, then I guess we'll move.
Alexis:
Pay no attention to my nephew. This table is just fine. All right,
I'll have the --
Nikolas:
No, no, no, just -- she's still not ready. Could you excuse us just
for one minute? Just one minute. Are you literally trying to sabotage
me?
Alexis:
Yes, I am, and it's for your own good, because you've got to stop
pressuring that Woman that looks alarmingly like Emily.
Nikolas:
What pressure? What's wrong with exchanging pleasantries with Rebecca
while she serves us our dinner? And I'd like to get your take on
her. Ok. All right, look. (to the waitress) There's a 20
in it for you if you can get Rebecca to take our table. Yeah?
Waitress:
Done.
Nikolas:
All right.
[Nikolas
laughs]
Nikolas:
What?
Rebecca:
Hey.
Nikolas:
Hi.
Rebecca:
You ready to order?
Nikolas:
Yeah.
Alexis:
I'm so sorry. If you'd just stand right there, I will explain to
my nephew all the many ways that he is out of line.
Alexis:
Let me just say that by walking in here and throwing your money
around and pressuring this poor Woman to wait on you could be ...
actionable in a court of law.
Nikolas:
That is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard in my entire
life. I'm a customer here, just like everybody else.
Alexis:
All right, let me just -- I'm sorry. What is your last name?
Rebecca:
Shaw.
Alexis:
All right, has Miss Shaw asked you more than once to leave her alone?
Nikolas:
You're interrogating me right now?
Alexis:
Yes or no?
Nikolas:
Yes, yes.
Alexis:
Ok, so after asking you more than once, you continue to come in
here and harass her, so, in fact, you are ignoring her request.
Nikolas:
This is a public place. I can come here whenever I want.
Alexis:
But still, you are using your money and power to try to force her
to do something that she doesn't want to do. So it
is clearly questionable
behavior at best. I mean, can't you see that?
Rebecca:
Look, in all fairness, I didn't give Nikolas much of a choice.
Rebecca:
Look, I won't deny it's disconcerting to be treatedlike a walking
ghost, but you know, I do look like Emily, and Nikolas is allowed
to have a reaction, and hopefully sooner rather than later, he'll
get used to seeing me, and my resemblance won't be so compelling.
Alexis:
So he's not making you uncomfortable?
Rebecca:
Not to the point where I'd consider legal action, no.
Alexis:
Then you're willing to wait on him.
Rebecca:
Yeah, sure, even exchange pleasantries.
Alexis:
Ok, my work is done.
Nikolas:
You're not going to eat now?
Alexis:
No. I need a martini.
She
leaves.
