11, 2009 Transcript Rebecca: Had no idea Port Charles was going to be so profitable. Maybe I should just take the money and run to a tropical island or -- Nikolas: Yes, yes. Then I could chase after you. As we all know, I'm an obsessed stalker. Alexis: What you are, apparently, is a dupe. You are walking right into Helena’s trap. Rebecca: I'm not working for Helena, Alexis. Alexis: The offer still stands. Nikolas: I'm so sorry. She's just way overprotective. Rebecca: It's okay. She might as well get over it. I'm not going anywhere. Nikolas: Good. It's just that, other than her own children, I'm the only family she has, so she feels responsible for me. Rebecca: She needs to get a life. Nikolas: Well, Helena killed Alexis’s mother. Slit her throat when she was just a child. She saw the whole thing. Rebecca: You can't be serious. Nikolas: I am. My grandfather Mikkos, who was also then Helena's husband, was in love with Alexis’s mother. So naturally, he wanted a divorce so he could be with her, but Helena killed her instead. Mikkos got custody of Alexis, but, of course, Helena made her life completely miserable. So that's why Alexis holds on so tightly to the family she does have. Rebecca: I'd call it obsession. Nikolas: Yes. My family certainly is invested in my life. Rebecca: Listen, I can handle your family, so don't worry. Nikolas: Yeah? Rebecca: You think your aunt's going to be back? Nikolas: Not tonight. Rebecca: She seemed really upset; maybe you should go after her. I'd feel better. Nikolas: Okay. Rebecca: But you're going to be back, right? Nikolas: Definitely be back. Rebecca: Okay. Nikolas: Bye. Rebecca: Bye. Alexis: I'm glad you called before I got home, anyway. Nikolas: Why can't we just go to the Metro Court and have a nice glass of wine so I can apologize to you for being rude in front of Rebecca? Alexis: Apology accepted. Nikolas: Thank you. Now, how can I help you to stop worrying about me? Alexis: You can't. But you're being very diplomatic about it, and I appreciate that. Nikolas: Great, then let's go. I'm buying. Alexis: You can't play games with Helena. Nikolas: Alexis, I've been dealing with Helena my entire life. Here I am, alive and well still. Alexis: Well, what about everybody else? I mean, how many times has she tried to kill Emily? And what about Spencer? Nikolas: We've been over this how many times? How many times? Rebecca is not working with Helena. Alexis: All right, how about Stefan? How about the fact that he was so obsessed with Laura that he wasted his entire life? He could have accomplished a lot. But he let his obsession destroy him, and you are very close to following in his footsteps. Nikolas: I am nothing like him. Alexis: Despite his obsession, he protected you very well, and you need to be doing the same thing for Spencer. You have a family. You have a son. You have people who love you. You can't afford to throw that all away for a stranger with Emily’s face. Nikolas: If you could show me some evidence that Rebecca is working with Helena, I'd listen, but other than a trip to Greece and a couple of childhood scars, you can't give me anything. Alexis: Nikolas, you are refusing to see what is obvious to everybody else. She didn't j General Hospital by accident. Nikolas: I -- I love that you're so concerned about this, but I'm not just going to walk away from Rebecca, and she's not a threat to Spencer. In fact, the happier I am, the better father I can be. There's something real going on between the two of us, and I want to see that through. Alexis: Then I'm afraid for you. Oh, hell, I'm afraid for all of us. [Alexis sighs]
