Alexis: Hello.

Jax: Oh, hi.

Alexis: Hi, Carly.

Carly: Hi.

Alexis: You guys haven't seen Agent Rayner, have you?

Jax: Consorting with the feds after hours, huh? What's going on?

[Phone rings]

Alexis: Hold on. Let me grab this. I think I have to pick up Kristina at the library.

Kristina: So this is where the mysterious Jason Morgan hangs out. Does a Woman live here with you?

Jason: Excuse me?

Kristina: Just asking. It's warmer than you'd think, and the pool table is a nice touch. Who are you calling? As if I didn't know. Why? You and my mother don't even get along. For sure you don't owe her anything. If you have to call somebody, call Dad.

Jason: Sonny's busy.

Kristina: What else is new?

Rebecca: I've had it with being the place where Cassadine women go to dump their insanity and paranoia. I am sick of defending myself against never-ending and baseless accusations, so believe what you want, tell Nikolas what you want, good luck in getting him to believe you, but however it is that you decide to pursue it, you whacked-out freak show, stay the hell out of my face.

Helena: Well, how priceless. Better to see a vicious little guttersnipe emerge from Emily’s insipid face. Oh, what we couldn't have accomplished if only I'd gotten to you first.

Rebecca: Maybe you're not just as smart as you think you are.

Helena: Well, you would be well advised not to suffer that disillusion, my dear. At the moment, I find you amusing, intriguing to watch, but if you become tedious --

Rebecca: What? You'll what?

Helena: Must you always be so defensive? You and I are not necessarily at cross-purposes. It would seem counterproductive not to pool our resources, don't you think? Now, I would make it worth your while to walk away from your current partner and work with me. You know, the sky's the limit, Rebecca.

Jason: Oh, what do you think you're doing? No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

Kristina: You should work on your hospitality.

Jason: You're not drinking alcohol here.

Kristina: I hope you're not dumb enough to think I won't drink it anywhere else.

Jason: Well, I can't control that. Here, drink this instead.

Kristina: I'm not thirsty. But I could get hungry real fast. Want to hook up with me?

Jason: Okay, hold on. I know you're trying to distract me from calling Alexis, but you've got to find a different strategy.

Kristina: Whatever. Call her. I'll just make up a reason for being there, like Chandler Elles. My mom always says she's a train wreck. A disaster waiting to happen." I'll just say I heard Chandler was out drinking, and I went to the club to try and talk her into going home. Mom will love that. It's caring and responsible. Except here's the glitch. I wasn't able to help Chandler because your big, macho self showed up and hauled me away. I could probably work up a pretty good cry by the time she gets here. And why waste it? I'll tell her you tried to have sex with me.

Jason: Yeah, stick with that one, because that's believable.

Kristina: Are you making fun of me? You? My dad's number one flunky? Let me tell you something. If it comes to my mother choosing whether to believe me or you, she'll pick me every time. You want to put it to the test? Go ahead, call.

Alexis: Sorry.

Carly: It's okay, if you have plans tonight, don't let us keep you.

Jax: Oh, no, no, no. Please, sit down, sit down. I see that Molly's still trying to bargain her Friday night curfew.

Alexis: Like clockwork. No pun intended.

Jax: I didn't realize Kristina was back from her honor's trip. How was Boston?

Alexis: She loved it. She really did. She came back with a mountain of homework, but, fortunately, it doesn't seem to faze her because she takes overachieving to a new level, which is why she's at the library right now when she should be with her friends, actually.

Jax: Oh.

Carly: Isn't it a little late in the year to be studying so hard?

Alexis: Yeah, but she's studying for summer courses, trying to prep because she's determined to get into Yale.

Jax: Aww, like mother, like daughter.

Alexis: I tell her to do as I say, not as I do, but she's determined, you know, and she should relax. She's got straight A’s. What can I say? I've got the perfect child, eh? I'm sorry. I don't mean to be insensitive. I want to hear about Michael. Stop me next time I do that.

Carly: It's okay, it's okay. Kristina is giving you a reason to brag, that's great. Michael has lost a year of his life, you know? He has lots of challenges ahead, but I'm just as proud of him.

Rebecca: Let me be clear. I'm not going to be joining forces with you for any reason. Especially not the exploitation of Nikolas. In fact, I strongly suggest that you slither back under that little rock that you came from and leave me alone.

Helena: Well, brava, brava, brava. You become more impressive by the minute. You just adjusted your performance on a dime.

Rebecca: Great. I have no idea what you're talking about.

Helena: Well, the sincere concern for Nikolas' welfare, exactly like Emily -- when the naughty little mouse got it in her head to roar.

Rebecca: Oh, God, I have no idea why I'm still talking to you.

Helena: But you're not aware, are you? That you sounded just like her. Oh, my poor darling little Nikolas. The moment you entered the picture, he never stood a chance.

Rebecca: Read my lips, lady. Screw you.

Jason: Alexis isn't picking up.

Kristina: Could have left a voice mail.

Jason: Can always call back, can't I?

Kristina: Why don't you just call my dad?

Jason: Like I said, Sonny's busy.

Kristina: He'll come if you tell him -- who am I kidding? Dad doesn't care what I'm doing. He doesn't even bother to find out.

Jason: Your father loves you, Kristina.

Kristina: Whatever that means. To be fair, I can't blame Dad exclusively. Mom practically hyperventilates at the thought of me spending time with him. But it all works, right? Since he really doesn't want to be bothered.

Jason: Okay, it's obvious that you have some issues with your parents. Maybe you should be discussing this with them.

Kristina: And lose my leverage? Why would I do that?

Jason: Your leverage?

Kristina: Dad cancels his scheduled visit. I play it off like it's no big deal so he won't, God forbid, feel pressured. Compared to my mother, I come off like the reasonable one. Then I go to her, all hurt and teary. What's so wrong about me that my own father doesn't want me around? Mom feels guilty, so she overcompensates. I get a trip to Boston, or a flat screen for my bedroom. Mom and Dad shower me with material things, and I'm shallow enough to go with that. It's not perfect, but it's a sweet deal. I'm not going to be rocking that boat by spilling my feelings all over the floor.

[Jason sighs]

Kristina: You know what? I'm bored. Take me home.

Alexis: How is Michael?

Carly: He's fine.

Alexis: I'm sorry that I wasn't more visibly supportive during his surgery.

Carly: It's okay, I'm sure you were busy.

Alexis: Family matter, unpleasant.

Jax: Yeah, I heard that Helena was in town.

Alexis: So is Rebecca Shaw, but I'm trying to remedy that.

Carly: It's okay. I'm sure you had your hands full. Yeah, Michael is fine. He's had tons of support. I'm sure he didn't miss you, but his sister, that's a different story.

Alexis: I'm afraid that's my fault, too. I thought Kristina seeing Michael comatose might be too upsetting for her.

Carly: Distract her from her A’s. I get it. But Michael could use a visit from Kristina.

Alexis: Absolutely. I will check with Kristina and then I'll let you know when -- when it's okay for her.

Carly: Yeah.

Alexis: There's Agent Rayner.

Jax: Oh, go.

Alexis: All right.

Alexis: Agent Rayner. I was pleasantly surprised to get your call.

Agent Rayner: Is that so? You made my day.

Alexis: No, I meant that I didn't expect the results to come back so quickly.

Agent Rayner: Well, that's what happens when you have the weight of the bureau working for you. We ask, people tend to answer. That and I have the incentive. I wanted to impress you.

Alexis: You're not flirting with me again, are you?

Agent Rayner: Am I getting anywhere?

Alexis: No.

Agent Rayner: All right, then. Everything you ever wanted to know about Rebecca Shaw is in this file. But heed my warning; it may be the opposite of what you want to hear.

Alexis: I almost regret calling you in on this.

Agent Rayner: I had a feeling you might. Look, there's no law that says you have to act on any of this information. Sleep on it. It might be just enough to send Rebecca on her way.

Alexis: I could always say that I never saw the file and just let the chips fall where they may. I mean, Nikolas is a big boy. He keeps telling me to butt out of his business anyway.

Agent Rayner: Could you do that?

Alexis: You probably don't think I can. But you know, I've kept bigger secrets than this. Much worse than this. Unless, of course, you know that already.

Agent Rayner: Know what?

Alexis: About my secrets.

Agent Rayner: You think I ran a background check on you while I was at it?

Alexis: Did you?

Agent Rayner: I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I'm not as devious as all of that. The only research I did was on Rebecca Shaw at your request. So moment of truth, what are you going to do about the contents of that file?

Kristina: You almost gave me a heart attack.

Michael: Surprise. Miss me?

Kristina: Like crazy. What are you doing here?

Michael: I'm done with the hospital, okay? And I'm back. Which is where you come in.

Agent Rayner: Would you mind if I steered the conversation in a more personal direction?

Alexis: How personal?

Agent Rayner: Moderately.

Alexis: Elaborate.

Agent Rayner: I'm not going to ask you about the men in your life. From what you've told me, the general consensus is I'll probably be compelled to start issuing arrest warrants.

Alexis: Well, I'm not going to talk about my personal life anymore with you, okay?

Agent Rayner: Fair enough. Just curious, though, are you this loyal and protective with all of the people you love, or is Nikolas just a special case?

Alexis: I'm not sure how to answer that.

Agent Rayner: Well, you've gone out of your way to protect him. He's a grown man capable of managing his own life.

Alexis: Looks can be deceiving. Nikolas has never had it easy. Ever.

Agent Rayner: Even so, you've been challenging your stepmother who is known to be formidable and lethal. You've called out Rebecca Shaw and made no secret of that with Nikolas. And the horror of horrors, you've stooped to asking a fed for help.

Alexis: Is that your oddly flattering way of telling me to mind my own business?

Agent Rayner: No, not at all. It's just, I'm actually drawn to that mama lioness type. It just doesn't seem to be the quality that one would put with you. Alexis Davis, district attorney, single mom, mind like a steel trap, fiercely competitive. Usually something has to give. Oftentimes, the relationships with extended family are the ones that suffer. But you? You never miss a beat.

Alexis: I should hire you to do public relations for me. You make me sound all noble and fierce. I'm really just paranoid. I expect the worst to happen. Growing up a Cassadine, you're taught that the worst usually does.

Kristina: You look really good -- not sick at all. And you're -- wow -- taller.

Michael: Yeah, nothing like coma time to help me grow big and strong. So when did you become such a babe?

Kristina: When you weren't looking, obviously. I'm so glad you're not mad at me.

Michael: Why would I be?

Kristina: Some sister. I didn't even visit you the whole time you were at the Aftercare Institute.

Michael: It doesn't matter. I wouldn't have known you were there anyway. Coma, remember?

Kristina: I wanted to come, but Mom thought it would be too upsetting.

Michael: I'm actually glad you didn't see me like that -- all helpless.

Kristina: It must have been so weird for you, but you don't remember anything, right?

Michael: I'm starting to remember people were talking to me, but not what they said. Like you're underwater, but things are coming back, I think. I don't know.

Kristina: I really missed you.

Michael: Yeah, and I missed everything, literally. To me, it didn't seem like a whole year passed. But it must have, because nothing is the same.

Nikolas: Any chance I can get you back to Wyndemere tonight, or have you had enough of me?

Rebecca: Oh, yeah, right, that's why I followed you all the way to the Haunted Star. All I want to do is finish what we started earlier. And the faster we can get back to it, the happier I'll be. What?

Nikolas: Alexis wasn't wrong about everything. One thing she said to me I know is fact. That's that I'm happy. I'm really happy for the first time in a long time because of you. Thank you.

[Cell phone rings]

Nikolas: Sorry.

[Cell phone rings]

Nikolas: Looks like I talked her up. Yes, Alexis.

Alexis: You need to stop whatever you're doing right now and meet me at the Metro Court, and no, it cannot wait.

Michael: Thanks. I needed that.

Kristina: Sandwiches are about the extent of my talent. I mean, really, where would I learn anything else?

Michael: Alexis is still a disaster in the kitchen?

Kristina: The worst. I wish she'd just give up instead of trying all the time.

Michael: So, what's been going on with you since last time I checked in?

Kristina: Let's see. I topped the honor roll at Madison prep. I got five's on all my A.P.s. I'm sophomore class president. I lettered in tennis. And I raised $2,000 to fight urban graffiti. And I'm going to try to cure cancer before Mom's inedible breakfast.

Michael: That's awesome. You're awesome, I mean.

Kristina: Didn't Dad tell you any of this?

Michael: Everything's been pretty jacked at the hospital. A lot of stuff happened in a short amount of time.

Kristina: Did Dad mention me at all?

Michael: What's wrong? Are you having trouble with Dad?

Kristina: I'd almost prefer that to what I get -- which is nothing. After you got shot, Mom got even more paranoid about Dad. She didn't want me anywhere near him. Every time he tried to plan something, she'd find a reason to cancel. After a while, I guess he gave up. He certainly didn't put up a fight or anything.

Michael: Dad, he probably just wanted to honor Alexis' feelings. He knows how dangerous his business is. And after what happened to me --

Kristina: I don't want to talk about it anymore. Why did you take off from the hospital?

Michael: You would have, too. I mean, after all the constant medical attention and my entire family -- Quartermaines included -- hovering over me, I just wanted to punch someone. You know? So I came here because I knew I could count on you to help me out.

Kristina: Just tell me what you want me to do.

Nikolas: Well, congratulations on your once again impeccable timing. Your urgent call came just as Rebecca was about to come home with me. What a coincidence.

Alexis: Guess I just have a knack. Before you get any more involved with Rebecca, I think you should know who she is.

Nikolas: I'm getting really tired of these accusations.

Alexis: Well, I have the proof that you asked for. I don't know what you're going to do with it, but there is no doubt that Rebecca is Emily’s twin sister.

Kristina: Now that I've heard your plan, I have to ask. Have you given it much thought?

Michael: Are you saying I can't stay?

Kristina: Of course not. But Dad, Carly, and Jax are going to be freaked. Dad and Jason are going to have every no-neck in town combing the streets for you.

[Knock at door]

Jason: Kristina, it's Jason. Open the door.

Kristina: See? It's happening already. I told you to leave me alone.

Jason: I know Michael's in there. Open up.

Kristina: Don't worry about this.

Jason: Kristina, I know you think you're helping your brother, but you're making things worse. Michael, come on. Your dad's flipping out. So is your mom. Let's go.

Kristina: Quit the stupid game. Michael's not here, and you know it. You came for me.
