Kristina:
Hi, Mom.
Alexis:
Hi, honey.
Kristina:
Molly is already asleep. There is a casserole in the oven, and I
saved you the other half of my brownie.
Alexis:
Well, did you find the secret to world peace while you were at it?
You are such a good, good kid.
Alexis:
Chemistry, yuck. I stunk at that.
Kristina:
It's easy.
Alexis:
For you. I can't believe I'm going to say this, but you work too
hard.
Kristina:
Gee, I wonder where I get that from.
Alexis:
Gee. You know what? I think you should have some fun. Why don't
you have a girlfriend sleep over or something?
Kristina:
Not on a school night.
Alexis:
Sorry.
Kristina:
Anyway, we haven't had time together in weeks, and I stayed up so
we could talk.
Alexis:
I love that. Okay. All right, good. We're going to need more than
half a brownie for that, though. Okay, so what's up?
Kristina:
There was kind of a misunderstanding tonight. And I bet you Dad
is going to get the wrong impression and be mad at me.
Alexis:
Well, forget about your dad for the moment and tell me what happened.
Kristina:
Jason doesn't get that I was just trying to help my friend.
Alexis:
Chandler.
Kristina:
I wanted to get her out of that club, but before I could even find
her, Jason grabs me and makes me go home with him.
Alexis:
He took you to his apartment?
Kristina:
At first, but he couldn't get a hold of you, so he brought me back
here. Next thing I know, Michael shows up and then Jason is back
like some bounty hunter from hell. He insisted on dragging Michael
back to the hospital.
Alexis:
He can be a little heavy-handed.
Kristina:
He doesn't listen to me or answer when I talk to him. It's like
I'm not even there.
Alexis:
He's a man of few words. But he also isn't one to tell tales, so
he's not going to tell your father if that's what you're worried
about.
Kristina:
Not like dad would care.
Alexis:
Your dad cares. Whatever issues that you have with your father,
it is nothing that you've done. It is not your fault. The
problem is between your dad and me, okay?
[Cell
phone rings]
Alexis:
Sorry, honey.
Kristina:
They need you at the office.
Alexis:
They do. They do -- a suspect on a new case. I have to be there
for the -- for the line-up. Why don't we talk about this later,
okay?
Kristina:
Mom?
Alexis:
What, honey?
Kristina:
You work too hard.
Alexis:
Ha ha.
Kristina:
You need to have some fun. Why don't you invite Diane for a sleepover?
Alexis:
You are so funny. I have such a funny, funny kid. Please don't stay
up too late, all right? And I love you.
Kristina:
I love you, too.
