"I'm Not Covering Up an Assault Charge"

Robin: We are not in the middle of anything. We responded to a medical emergency as medical professionals. Whatever happened in Mayor Floyd's hotel room is his problem. And to be honest, I hope it has enough teeth to bite him.

Patrick: Well, it's obvious you're not a fan.

Robin: Mayor Floyd is the bane of my Uncle Mac’s existence. He's untrustworthy, slick, he panders to the press in such an obvious way it's disgusting. He serially cheats on his perfectly nice wife. I mean, I'm not the only one in this town that would like to see Mayor Floyd take a fall.

Patrick: Which brings us neatly back to Brianna Hughes. So what do you think?

Robin: I agree with you. The severity of the concussion goes way beyond a bump on the head during shower sex.

Patrick: Okay, so I obviously know how you feel about Mayor Floyd, but do you really think he would assault a Woman?

Alexis: Patrick? [Clears throat] Excuse me. Would it be possible for me to question Brianna Hughes?

Patrick: Yeah. May I ask why the D.A. is involved?

Alexis: Because we have a maid who believes she may have heard the accident at the Metro Court, or a struggle.

Patrick: Okay, well, Brianna is not ready to talk yet. Robin and I just were conferring, and we need to run more tests.

Alexis: Some concern that you have?

Patrick: The head injury is a lot more serious than the circumstances suggest.

Alexis: Excuse me. I agreed to keep this whole sordid episode under the radar for reasons that you and I are both aware of. But that does not and will not extend to covering up assault.

Mayor Floyd: Assault? What are you talking about? Brianna wasn't assaulted.

Alexis: Well, Garrett, according to the doctors, the head injury tells another story. So why don't you go through this again from the top, and this time, don't leave anything out.

Robin: The mayor looks like he just threw up in his mouth.

Patrick: Well, he's got a lot to worry about. Not only was he busted cheating on his wife, but the Woman he was with could be seriously injured.

Mayor Floyd: I freely admit to having an assignation with Brianna. I assure you it was consensual. Brianna and I are very much involved.

Alexis: That's real sweet, Garrett. How's your wife feel about that?

Mayor Floyd: You know very well the problems I've had with my wife. Nothing's changed. So, yes, Brianna and I were in an embrace in the shower. It got athletic. She hit her head. It was very painful. Brianna thought acetaminophen would help, so I went down to the gift store, I got some. When I came back, she was unconscious.

Alexis: That story is not going to work, Garrett, because her head injury is too severe. You need to tell me exactly what happened, and you need to know that I'm not covering up an assault charge.

Patrick: Okay, I just ordered another round of tests, so we're in a holding pattern.

Robin: Good. We can go to the park.

Patrick: After I talk to the mayor, yeah.

Robin: Can I watch?

Patrick: Do I have a choice?

Mayor Floyd: I did not hurt Brianna. I never would. And I strongly advise you to take my word and put this matter to rest. Otherwise, this could end up as uncomfortable for you as it is for me.

Patrick: Mayor, I need to ask you a few questions about Brianna Hughes. Exactly how --

Mayor Floyd: I'm not answering any more of your questions, Dr. Drake. I've already told you everything I know. And if Brianna is in any kind of physical jeopardy, it's because you botched her treatment. And if that's so, well, I promise you'll be hearing from our lawyer.

Robin: Lovely.

Patrick: Hmm.

Alexis: Will you keep me apprised of Brianna's condition? I want to question her as soon as possible.

Patrick: Yeah. Well, I guess I'm all yours.

Matt: Patrick.

Patrick: Yeah.

Matt: I need you. Brianna Hughes, she's seizing.

Alexis: For someone who is about to be a daddy, you don't seem very happy.

Jax: Hey. Yeah, well, it's not easy keeping secrets from my wife while the person who should be in jail gets to happily build a new life.

Alexis: You had a valid reason for letting Jerry go.

Jax: Yeah, I thought so at the time.

Alexis: You were trying to protect your wife and your baby-to-be, and that can be considered noble.

Jax: I just want the children living under my roof to have a realistic understanding of who they can trust and who they can't.

Alexis: Why does it sound to me like you're referring to someone other than Jerry

Jax: What makes you say that?

Alexis: Because Jerry is gone, and he's not influencing anyone under your roof. And maybe it's just a notion -- was someone else involved in Michael's shooting?

Alexis: Listen, you and I are on really thin ice for not turning Jerry in when we had the chance.

Jax: Yeah.

Alexis: If there is someone else involved in Michael's shooting, if Jerry had a partner, I want to know.

Jax: No, there's no one else. I mean, besides Ian Devlin, Jerry acted alone.

Alexis: Keeping secrets can be painful. I know that. My family was built on them. But sometimes, a secret is necessary. Sometimes it's noble. And you're doing this out of love for your family. So that's understandable. But if you tell Carly now to ease your own conscience, then you're doing it at her expense. And I don't think you really want to do that, do you?

Jax: Carly and the baby mean everything to me. I'll do whatever it takes to keep them safe.
