Michael: Uncle Jerry, what are you doin' here?

Kristina: We thought you were dead.

Jerry: The rumors of my demise were greatly exaggerated.

Thug: Shut up and hand over your wallets.

Jerry: You gentlemen would be well advised to leave immediately.

Thug: Not without your money.

Jerry: Heh heh heh.

Kristina: Michael!

Jerry: Oh, you know what? Trust me, amigo. Things will get really worse if you decide to stay.

[Mexican folk music playing]

Kristina: Michael!

Jerry: Hello, children. Haven't your parents told you that it’s dangerous to go to foreign countries on your own? Huh?

Kristina: I can't believe you're here. How did you find us?

Jerry: Well, I'd love to explain a little more, but why don't we move to a more congenial spot to talk? Let’s go.

Michael: You know, I could have handled those guys if it wa-wasn't for the knife.

Jerry: I'm sure. I'm sure. A-and your instinct to protect your sister was most admirable. I'm very proud of you. You know what? It’s really--ehh. I don't know. I think I've lost my wallet in the struggle. Now, you stay here. I'll be right back, okay?

Kristina: That’s so weird that Jerry just showed up out of nowhere.

Michael: Yeah, it’s a pretty wild coincidence, huh?

Jerry: [Humming a tune]

[Silenced gunshots]

Kristina: What was that?

Michael: Uh, a machine or something. Who knows? You know, we should probably get going. Probably, uh--

Jerry: Found it. Okay, can we go?

Morgan: Kristina made Claudia go off the road?

Molly: I heard my mom tell Diane.

Morgan: So that’s why she ran away with Michael.

Molly: I'm really glad they're okay.

Morgan: Yeah, well, Michael’s e-mail said we can't tell anyone, so you have to swear not to.

Molly: Why can't we tell?

Morgan: 'Cause Spinelli could trace the e-mail, and Michael and Kristina don't wanna be found.

Molly: But what if they never come home?

Morgan: They will.

Molly: But if Kristina’s afraid of going to jail--

[Knock on door]

Kiefer: Hey, Molly. Did you get any more work done on my admissions essay?

Molly: No. I'm too worried about my sister to write anything.

Kiefer: Yeah, well, I'm worried, too. Hey, Morgan, right?

Morgan: Right.

Kiefer: So, have you heard from k?

Morgan: Nah. Nothin'.

Kiefer: Yeah. You know, I still can't believe she'd just take off, you know, without a word to her family or me.

Morgan: She’s with Michael.

Kiefer: Heh. Yeah, look, no offense to your brother, okay, but he just got out of a hospital, and I don't think he can really take care of K. Or himself, for that matter.

Sonny: My son could take care of himself just fine. Who are you?

Morgan: He’s Kiefer, Dad, Kristina’s boyfriend.

Kiefer: Good to meet you, Mr. Corinthos.

Sonny: Kiefer.

Kiefer: Bauer, sir. I go to Madison Prep with Kristina.

Sonny: Oh, you're--you're the one who got in a fight with my son at the country club. Is that right?

Kiefer: Uh, yeah, we got--

Sonny: Is that right?

Kiefer: We had a misunderstanding.

Sonny: Yeah?

Kiefer: Yeah. Um, I--I heard Mr. Howell came down pretty hard on Michael. I'm--I'm sorry about that.

Sonny: I'm sure you are.

Kiefer: Hey, uh, I--I know Kristina and Michael ran away.

Sonny: And you came to pump her little sister for information?

Kiefer: No. No, I was just actually hoping to talk to Kristina, convince her to come home.

Sonny: Well, she’s in good hands with Michael, and if--when she comes home, I'll tell her you came by, and, uh, she'll call you, or she won't.

Kiefer: Thanks.

Sonny: All right.

Kiefer: Appreciate it.

Sonny: Great. Great. How--how serious is this boyfriend thing?

Molly: Kristina really likes Kiefer. He’s cool.

Sonny: Yeah?

Molly: And he’s a senior.

Sonny: Where’s your mother?

Molly: At the office. But Viola’s here.

Sonny: Oh, no. I don't wanna-- I don't want Viola--uh, I don't think they'd contact her. Have they contacted any of you?

Molly and Morgan: No.

Sonny: Okay. Listen. I don't want any of you to worry about this, okay? 'Cause, uh, Jason and Sam are gonna bring Kristina and Michael home.

Jerry: Here you go. So I phoned the taxi. It'll be here soon.

Kristina: Should we call the police about the muggers?

Jerry: Oh, no, no. Why waste time? I mean, these 2 thugs are long gone, I can assure you.

Michael: So, what are you doin' in Veracruz?

Jerry: Well, I'm, uh, here on business, actually.

Michael: You're not lookin' for us?

Jerry: Not at all. It was blind providence that I happened upon this alley. I mean--are you on holiday with your parents?

Michael: Um...

Jerry: Oh, I see. Evidently not.

Michael: It’s complicated.

Jerry: Yes. Well, most things are. Well, as you know, I'm not extremely popular with either your father or the minions of law enforcement, and I have no desire to be in touch with them, so, uh, if you have any secrets to tell, you can be assured that I will keep them.

[Vehicle passes]

[Vehicle passes]

Jerry: How lucky it was that I was here for a few weeks on business, huh?

Michael: What kind of business?

Jerry: Oh, you know, financial markets, tedious stuff. The fact that you're here is much more interesting. But why Veracruz, of all places?

Michael: Well, it’s summer vacation. We thought it'd be fun to come to Mexico.

Jerry: Michael. Michael. I'm your family, and I promised I wouldn't tell your parents, and I won't. Tell me the truth.

Michael: Like I said, it’s summer vacation.

Jerry: You're in trouble, aren't you?

Kristina: Tell him, Michael.

Michael: Well, after I ran Claudia off the road, she and my dad lost their baby. If I go back to Port Charles, I'll get 6 months juvenile detention. I can't deal with that. I know you think I'm a coward--

Jerry: No, no, no, no. On the contrary, I mean, incarceration will hardly rehabilitate you, especially if the accident was unintentional. And you've lost one year of your life, so why lose more?

Michael: There’s something else. My mom saved Claudia from the car wreck and ended up in the hospital. I don't wanna cause any more trouble.

Jerry: I know. It’s quite understandable. Don't worry. Now, Kristina, um, why are you here?

Kristina: I couldn't let Michael go alone.

Jerry: Oh, well, that’s an admirable impulse, but, uh, I can't help but noticing there’s a little more to this. I-is it personal reasons?

Kristina: I got tired of being perfect, so I thought I'd change things up; see how the other half lives.

Jerry: Hmm. Well, you know, I-- I understand. I know your mother. I mean, a-Alexis is an extraordinary Woman, but she can be a bit demanding, eh?

Kristina: Do you think?

Jerry: Uh, you felt pressured, eh? You always had to be at the top of your game, eh? Alexis sets a bar so high for herself, and I--I can imagine she did the same with you.

Kristina: I'm not who my mom thought I was.

Jerry: Hmm. I understand. Well, anyhow, I have to admit I applaud you both for your decision to strike it on your own, but the question is where do you go from here? Hmm?

Molly: I'm not supposed to contact you, but I miss you so much. I know you ran away 'cause you feel bad, but Mom is in a lot of trouble. Please come home, Kristina. Love, Molly.

[Footsteps]

[Knock on door]

Kiefer: Hey, Molly.

Molly: Hi.

Kiefer: Hey, uh, is K’s father still here?

Molly: No. He took Morgan home.

Kiefer: Yeah?

Molly: Mm-hmm.

Kiefer: You know, I--I could tell he’s really, really worried about K. We all are. You know, that’s actually why I--I came back here. Um, I know you and your sister are really close.

Molly: I don't know where she is.

Kiefer: Did she try to get in touch with you? You know, just to let you know she’s all right? Look, I--I get that you were probably too nervous to say so in front of K’s dad, but you can trust me.

Jerry: You know, I'm--I'm not sure it’s all wise to put all your faith in this, uh, Enrique guy.

Michael: He’s a good guy. I mean, I used to see him every time I went to the island with Dad. Enrique’s from Veracruz, and he, uh, came back here to retire.

Kristina: Yeah, he says he’s honest.

Jerry: A-and I'm sure he is, but I mean, what’s to keep him from contacting your father? I-- I would assume he has a certain allegiance to Sonny after working for him all these years, you know.

Kristina: He has a point.

Michael: Maybe.

Jerry: Well, anyway, fortunately you're here with me, and I hold no allegiance, and I have no desire to inform on you. And actually I--I quite admire and respect what you did, you know.

Kristina: Yeah, except now we have to find jobs.

Jerry: Oh, don't worry. I have tons of contacts here. I think I can help you. In the meantime, you can stay in this apartment as long as you like.

Kristina: Great.

Molly: Michael sent an e-mail to Morgan.

Kiefer: Did he--did he say where he and K are?

Molly: No, just that they're okay and not to tell anyone.

Kiefer: That’s it? Ahh. How can K be so selfish? You know, I put my ass on the line for her, and she just takes off without a word!

Jerry: All right, children. Make yourselves at home. I've gotta go out for a bit.

Kristina: Thanks.

Jerry: Ah, you're welcome. My pleasure. And I'm rather looking forward to the company. See you later.

Kristina: This is working out great.

Michael: Yeah, why do you think he’s helping us?

Kristina: Why wouldn't he? Jerry’s your uncle. He dated my mom. He’s like extended family.

Michael: This is Jerry Jacks we're talkin' about.

Kristina: He’s being decent enough to us. I say we go with it. I'm gonna check out the rest of the place.

Jerry: Hmm. [Sniffs] Mmm. Sweet Sam, it’s been way too long.
